U.S. Cosmetics, Dayville, CT, has added a line of AHD-treated colors for use in pigmented cosmetics, such as mascaras and tinted moisturizers. Executives said AHD chemically bonds vegetable amino acids to the surface of the pigment or substrate in emulsions and powders. The colors are hydrophobic and dispersable in oils and silicones.
